Still in the Game. IW developing MW3 with a little help.
This is just an update regarding MW3. Now as you may know nothing has yet been confirmed about anything, or even if there will be a MW3 but these are some of the hottest rumours around providing us with the best clues about if and what we can expect from another Modern Warfare.

Now before you jump to conclusions and start yelling there will be no MW3 because there is no Infinity Ward, just listen to the information. Infinity Ward didn’t collapse or go out of business, there was resignation of 5 key members of the Modern Warfare team shortly after the firing of President Jason West and CEO Vince Zampella. Now that means that some of the key players in making Modern Warfare and Modern Warfare 2 have left the scene so you would think no Modern Warfare 3. Not exactly. Activision and Infinity Ward have sold some of the rights to the Modern Warfare franchise to Treyarch, the makers of Call of Duty Black Ops. That means that they both will be developing the game, but it doesn’t stop there. Raven and Sledgehammer games have both now come in on the scene and jumped at the opportunity to fill in the missing Infinity Ward team. So the team now consists of the original Infinity Ward, Treyarch makers of Black Ops, Raven and Sledghammer and will be Published by Activision.

So now onto game development. There is no doubt that Modern Warfare 3 is in development as Infinity Ward pretty much have publically stated it since early last year. In more recent developments the The Los Angeles Times says that reconstructed Infinity Ward is hard at work on MW3, and, unsurprisingly, they’re receiving loads of assistance from other internal studios. Both newly-formed Sledgehammer Games and Raven Software have allegedly been put on the “well into production” project (the former to help with single-player, the latter with online multiplayer), readying it for a November 2011 launch.

The basic key points are that Sledgehammer are going to be developing Campaign mode and Raven are going to be developing Multiplayer Online. All the developers will all tie their material together and im sure the finish will be as good as Modern Warfare 2 if not better. Sledghammer and Raven have proven records at games with great graphics such as Singularity.
