There has been no shortage of rumours going around thatModern Warfare 3 will have an April 2011 reveal, basically meaning we could see the first of many trailers in the next few days. Modern Warfare seems to have fallen out of the spotlight a bit since EA revealed Battlefield 3, which even the most devoted Cod fans will admit looks amazing. So what can we expect? Insider information has suggested that the first trailer could be released some time in April. I wouldn't expect anything revealing too much as Infinity Ward are doing a good job keeping everything secret so far. If the first trailer was to be released this month it would fit in with previous Call of Duty's trend as Black Ops was first released this time last year. Stay updated here and on our Youtube.

Activision has announced the creation of a brand new studio called Beachhead, who will be used to create 'digital content' and 'an innovative new platform and services' for Call Of Duty. Call Of Duty: Black Ops – free to play online, but for how long? What exactly all that means isn't clear, but it seems as if Beachhead will be used to develop some sort of subscription or microtransaction-based version of Xbox Live/PlayStation Network - but dedicated to Call Of Duty.

Or perhaps it's an expanded equivalent of Halo Waypoint with more microtransactions? Or maybe the equivalent of PlayStation Plus but just for Call Of Duty?

Suggestions that this year's Call Of Duty game will be a prequel starring Modern Warfare 2's Ghost continue to grow, with the Official PlayStation Magazine now also backing the rumours. Modern Warfare 2's Ghost: He had his own comic book series, why not a game? The latest issue of the mag claims that 'insider whispers' are suggesting that 'Infinity Ward's next Modern Warfare title will be a prequel, with Ghost in the lead role'.

That's all it says, but as you may notice the story is identical to rumours that began emerging last month, that said Modern Warfare 3 would be a prequel with the mysterious Ghost in the lead role. That probably means either the story's true or the Official PlayStation Magazine is just repeating the old news as their own.

It seems this is the possible first glimpse of the action that Modern Warfare 3 might offer us when it releases some time later this year. The Trailer is has been made to look like the fast action, thrilling campaign that we have become custom to because of previous Modern Warfare games. The Trailer has quite clearly been made in real time, using live actors and this shows through the slight differentation in the accents from them of the Characters in Modern Warfare, despite this it has been sensationally made using a small budget by WCPToronto (We Can Pretend Toronto) who incidentally also made the website findmakarov.com the website that sparked all the Modern Warfare 3 talk. Exciting news regarding Modern Warfare 3. A New Website has been released with a countdown on it leading to Wednesday. The URL has been spread via an anonymous message sent to a few compainies with 2 dog tag codes on it. However, after direct contact with Activision was made they confimed that the website was not official and just a hoax by another company. Activision said "There seems to be a great deal of speculation about the next Call Of Duty project," said a company spokesperson. "Let me be clear that we are not revealing yet. Anything indicating otherwise is a hoax.".

Despite this being confirmed to be a hoax it is a great Publicity stunt and gets peoples attention to MW3. Activision have confirmed they will not be revealing details any time soon but that therefore confirms that MW3 is in production. To see the website for yourself visit: http://findmakarov.com

Still in the Game. IW developing MW3 with a little help.
This is just an update regarding MW3. Now as you may know nothing has yet been confirmed about anything, or even if there will be a MW3 but these are some of the hottest rumours around providing us with the best clues about if and what we can expect from another Modern Warfare.

Now before you jump to conclusions and start yelling there will be no MW3 because there is no Infinity Ward, just listen to the information. Infinity Ward didn’t collapse or go out of business, there was resignation of 5 key members of the Modern Warfare team shortly after the firing of President Jason West and CEO Vince Zampella. Now that means that some of the key players in making Modern Warfare and Modern Warfare 2 have left the scene so you would think no Modern Warfare 3. Not exactly. Activision and Infinity Ward have sold some of the rights to the Modern Warfare franchise to Treyarch, the makers of Call of Duty Black Ops. That means that they both will be developing the game, but it doesn’t stop there. Raven and Sledgehammer games have both now come in on the scene and jumped at the opportunity to fill in the missing Infinity Ward team. So the team now consists of the original Infinity Ward, Treyarch makers of Black Ops, Raven and Sledghammer and will be Published by Activision.
